    Singers & Impressionists

    America's Neil Diamond Tribute
Jay White is a convincing '80s-era Neil Diamond, albeit sometimes a little too casual and jokey. Devout fans should be satisfied with a show that has no production value or narrative arc to lure the less enthusiastic. (Riviera)

Barbra and Frank - The Concert That Never Was
Sharon Owens and Sebastian Anzaldo actually pull off the wacky premise of teaming a '90s-era Barbra Streisand with the snap-brimmed, skinny-tied Frank Sinatra of the '50s. There's a sense of care and detail to a show that attempts to rise above the staging limitations of an enclosed lounge and mixes recorded tracks with live piano. (Riviera)

    Gordie Brown
The likability of this singing impressionist overcomes a lot of so-so song parodies in an act that falls somewhere between comedy clubs and old-school Vegas headliners. (The Venetian)

'Steve Connolly's Spirit of the King'
Steve Connolly strikes a fun, playful tone that lets the crowd know he's very much his own person and a born showman. But also pays honest tribute to the music of Elvis Presley by keeping the sound rootsy and authentic. (Fitzgeralds)

Fab Four Mania An established Beatles tribute band cloned itself for a sit-down run in Las Vegas. The live band offers three segments saluting the 1964 mop tops, the "Sgt. Pepper" era and a "Let It Be" finale. (Aladdin)

    Danny Gans Danny Gans
The singing impressionist is back in stride at The Mirage, returning with the energy of his early days in Las Vegas and a tighter act. (Mirage)

    Elton John
If you can get past those major qualifiers, the larger truth is as big as the giant screen: "The Red Piano" perfectly captures the contrast between John's diva-glam persona and the grit underscoring his music, reinterpreting classic songs while celebrating a career that's still moving forward. (Caesars Palace)

    Barry Manilow
Barry Manilow's Las Vegas career goes back to 1976, and his exclusive residency at the Las Vegas Hilton feels, for better or worse, like a show from a veteran Las Vegas entertainer that could have been there a long time already. The king of '70s pop balladry plays to his fan base and doesn't do much to broaden his appeal beyond loyalists. But his voice has aged well and his showman's instincts are in sync with the legends he salutes in an original tune, "Here's to Las Vegas." (Las Vegas Hilton)

The Platters, Cornell Gunter's Coasters and Beary Hobbs' Drifters
Gunter and Hobbs are dead, so authenticity isn't exactly the issue in this package of oldies vocal groups. Yet all three acts offer seasoned performers who will pass the scrutiny of all but the serious musicologist. Ultimately, it's all about a nonstop parade of hits, delivered with showmanship and authority. (Sahara)

Laugh Out Loud with the Scintas
This crowd-pleasing "show band" meets somewhere between Wayne Newton and the Smothers Brothers, balancing shtick with sentimentality. (Las Vegas Hilton)

    Toni Braxton: Revealed
The '90s pop star's likable personality sells a sexy diva showcase that recalls the Ann-Margret era of Las Vegas, yet doesn't rise to the level Braxton's stardom once promised. It's a fun show that reconnects with old fans, but the constant interplay and Braxton's diminished vocals keep the hits from having the resonance they should. (Las Vegas Flamingo)

It's day-one of the March Madness tournament. Aside from the Super Bowl, this weekend will be the busiest of the year for the sports books.

Where should you go? Really, it doesn't matter -- they're all hopping.

A couple of the biggest parties will be at the Las Vegas Hilton and Orleans. Some of the better deals we've seen advertised are 75-cent hot dogs at Coasts and Sam's Town and a free (regulation-size) basketball for a $20 parlay at the Orleans. The scene will be similar all weekend long.

    • Sports Events: Las Vegas 51s open their season at Cashman Field Center this weekend against the Salt Lake Bees (4/4 is Russell Martin Bobblehead Doll day and 4/5's the fireworks), while Las Vegas Wranglers host the Bakersfield Condors (4/4) and the Phoenix Roadrunners (4/5) at the Orleans Arena

JERSEY BOYS Coming to Las vegas

Jersey Boys Tickets available for purchase from Celebrity Seats

    The most anticipated
New musical to hit The Strip has finally arrived as JERSEY BOYS, the story
Of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, starts preview performances today at
The Palazzo Las Vegas. The show's Opening Night Gala is scheduled for May
    3.

"After two wonderful years on Broadway, in Chicago, San Francisco,
Around the country and most recently in London, we are delighted to open a
Brand new company in Las Vegas. We have every hope to make the new theater
In the recently opened Palazzo a JERSEY BOYS home for a long time to come.
Vegas is part of The Four Seasons history and we are excited to bring our
Version of that true story to such a singular market," says JERSEY BOYS
    Producer Michael David.

Led by Erich Bergen (Bob Gaudio), Rick Faugno (Frankie Valli), Jeremy
Kushnier (Tommy DeVito) and Jeff Leibow (Nick Massi) as The Four Seasons,
This coast-to-coast sensation is not to be missed.

"JERSEY BOYS is an internationally-celebrated show appealing to a wide
Range of audiences and is a perfect complement to Las Vegas and The
Palazzo," stated Rob Goldstein, president and chief operating officer of
The Palazzo. "JERSEY BOYS will be among great company with our already
Existing lineup of world-class entertainment at our sister property, The
Venetian, including Phantom -- The Las Vegas Spectacular, Blue Man Group
    And Wayne Brady."

A unique, custom-built theatre will house JERSEY BOYS Las Vegas and is
Currently the only place on the West Coast to see this runaway hit. Adorned
With special period influences and one-of-a-kind memorabilia from The Rock
And Roll Hall of Fame, the JERSEY BOYS Theatre will evoke fond memories of
    The 1950's era.

JERSEY BOYS will perform at The Palazzo on Monday, Thursday, Friday and
Sunday at 7 p.m.; Tuesday and Saturday at 7 p.m. And 10 p.m. And will be
    Dark on Wednesday.

Continues to set weekly box office records and continues to be one of the
Top grossing shows on Broadway. JERSEY BOYS is the winner of four 2006 Tony
Awards(R) including Best Musical. The original Broadway cast recording on
Rhino Records won the Grammy Award for Best Show Recording and remains one
Of the best-selling show CDs in the US.

JERSEY BOYS is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie
Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. This is the story of how a
Group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of
The biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own
Songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide --
All before they were thirty. The show features such hits as "Sherry," "Big
Girls Don't Cry," "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," "Oh, What a Night," and
    Many more.

Criss Angel finally has a date.

At Luxor, that is. The illusionist seemingly has no problem conjuring up escorts from models to Hollywood starlets.

His custom-built Cirque du Soleil show at Luxor has been long in the works, even before Luxor had begun switching away from their Egyptian theme.

But now, an end is in sight for performances beginning Sept. 12 (previews start Sept. 1).

The show will be called Criss Angel Believe, named after Harry Houdini's code word to his wife to prove he could speak to the living after his death.

Believe will contain illusions woven into a story about a surreal Victorian Noble (played by Angel) who runs into mysterious characters and dancers.

Tickets went on sale for fans of Angel (see crissangel.com) and Cirque Club Members.

Tickets range from $59 to $150 and can be reserved up to four months in advance.

    CRISS ANGEL Believe

    CRISS ANGEL Believe

    THE SHOW

CRISS ANGEL Believe™ will be a haunting exploration deep inside the inventive mind of mystifier Criss Angel as he hovers between the land of the living and a surreal world uniquely woven together by the distinctive imaginations of Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil.

Unlike traditional magic-themed shows, CRISS ANGEL Believe™ transcends any preconceived notion of what it means to be emotionally engaged by the arts of mysticism and illusion. Imagine a fantasy, an allegory, a highly theatrical tableau of mood, reverie and emotion set against a backdrop of dreamlike darkness and light.

Criss Angel stars as a surreal, enigmatic Victorian Noble. Along a path of imaginative exploration, he encounters Kayala and Crimson, two women who represent different aspects of femininity, four bizarre Ushers, who will introduce the audience to the baroque theater of Criss’s mind and a high-energy troupe of characters and dancers who mix a multitude of styles into a high-energy visual feast, punctuated by moments of grace and sensuality.

The stunning illusions in CRISS ANGEL Believe™ will not be presented as standalone elements, but as interdependent components using heightened imagery, fantastical creatures and impossible feats of legerdemain, all of which will be integrated into the dazzling, colorful fabric of the story.

Enter the "See It to Believe It!" contest

… to WIN A TRIP FOR TWO TO SEE Believe and MEET CRISS ANGEL!

    The Grand Prize includes:

    - Round trip economy airfare for two;
    - 2 premium seats to the Gala Premiere of Believe on September 12, 2008;
    - 2 nights in a Pyramid Spa Suite at the Luxor;
    - The opportunity to meet Criss Angel in person;

Confirmed guests include Mr Hart, Jason Giambi, Criss Angel, Carrot Top, and John Dolmayan.
A second grand opening takes place Saturday night 7/19 with a premier performance by Gavin Rossdale and guests including owners Carey Hart and Benji and Joel Madden, plus Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, The Killers, Slash, Dave Navarro, Jenna Jameson, Sofia Rossi, Reggie Bush, Everlast, Wilmer Valderrama, Butch Walker, and more of the usual suspects, no doubt.

    Wasted Space

This Summer, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will introduce another signature nightlife innovation called WASTED SPACE. Conceptualized by action sports star Carey Hart, Wasted Space will be a lavishly decadent rock club that brings authentic high-end rock n’ roll culture to Las Vegas, creating a one-of-a-kind nightlife experience. It will be the only place in Las Vegas where you can truly get up close and personal with rock legends as well as the hottest new bands before they break.

Wasted Space is a key feature of the property’s $750 million expansion. In a town saturated with megaclubs and ultralounges, Wasted Space will fill a void for the anti-club goer…someone who wants a sophisticated Vegas nightlife experience without the velvet rope dance music scene. The club will speak to an important set of tastemakers that the current Vegas atmosphere overlooks.

At around 5,000 square feet, Wasted Space will have an intimate, exclusive feel with a backstage atmosphere.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Opens Wasted Space -- Vegas' First Anti-Club

    "Hart Attacks" will be served
Nightly at the newest anti-club in town -- Wasted Space. Co-created by
Action Sports Super Star, Carey Hart, Wasted Space will officially open
July 19 with a private VIP party and a special acoustic rock set from Gavin
    Rossdale.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is opening the rock lounge as part of its
$800 million expansion and renovation. Wasted Space is co-owned by Hart,
Yankees baseball player Jason Giambi, and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Rockers Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte are partners and Hard
Rock's Cory McCormack will act as managing partner.

Wasted Space represents the ultimate depiction of the decadent rock n'
Roll lifestyle. The first anti-club of its kind, Wasted Space melds the
High-end rock n' roll culture with fashion, art and design creating a one
Of a kind atmosphere and nightlife experience.

"I wanted a place where my friends and I could hang out and listen to
Some great rock music with a cool atmosphere ... There were no options in
Vegas, so I made my own," said Hart. "Wasted Space will feature the top
Rock artists weekly, in addition to the hottest DJ's in the country."

The club was designed by Hart, McCormack and Zeff Design. Hart
    Hand-picked one of his favorite L.A. Artists to create a 30-foot hand-made

Hung above the bar area to add a personal element to the space.

    New 'Mamma Mia! Offer

Mandalay Bay is discounting Mamma Mia! Tickets to $55 and $41.25 through Dec. 21 (limit eight tickets per person). Strangely, while the promotional e-mail says "final performance January 4, 2009," the click-through page proclaims "Indefinite engagement." Also, no December dates are yet available through the Web site, which also had difficulty accessing ticket info for most of November. Still, given what it costs to see even a low-budget show on the Strip, this is an extraordinary bargain play.
