We just received a copy of the 48-page Sears Black Friday ad. This year they are having some pretty good deals, with the main highlights being a Samsung 40-inch 1080p LCD HDTV for $599.99, a Kenmore Elite Washer/Dryer pair for $999.98, and a Panasonic Blu-ray Home Theater System for $399.99.
This is an alert to let you know that we just received the first two pages of the Harbor Freight black friday ad which features deals on tools & hardware. Last year their ad included 6 additional pages and we expect to have the rest of the advertisement posted later this week. Also, we just finished typing up all of the items in the Toys R Us Big Toy Book. While this is not truly a Black Friday advertisement, many of our visitors requested this so we wanted to let you know about it. The Toys R Us Big Toy Book sale starts November 1st.
Finally, less than 24 hours after posting the OfficeMax Black Friday ad, their lawyers sent us a cease & desist letter forcing us to take the ad down temporarily. As soon as we are able to post it again, we'll do so. In the meantime, starting next week we should be posting new advertisements almost every day. We will also be releasing a few new features to the site which should help make your black friday shopping even easier this year.
To view the Harbor Freight Black Friday ad, go to:
Hello and welcome to the first black friday alert for 2009! This alert is just to give you a quick update on what to expect over the next two months. First, we have one official black friday ad and one rumored ad. The first confirmed ad goes to Half Price Books which features an ad that is is very similar to last year, complete with free calendars and gift cards available to the first 100 customers.
We were also anonymously sent what looks like a pre-release of the OfficeMax Black Friday ad earlier today. This ad scan appears to be partially correct, with the first three pages having decent deals on printers, digital cameras, computer accessories, and laptops. However, the fourth page looks to be fake, with items such as the Snuggie and the Slap Chop on sale. We want to be clear that this is strictly a rumor and we can not confirm that these deals are 100% accurate quite yet. However, we wanted to pass this info on for those of you that are interested in the OfficeMax Black Friday ad.
Typically we would have one or two additional ads by now, but we have heard rumors that retailers are putting new security measures in place to prevent the ads from leaking early. Even with the extra security in place, we still expect to receive at least two new black friday ads by the end of the month, followed by daily updates of new black friday ads throughout the month of November.
To make it easier for you to receive and share black friday updates, we have a couple of new tools. First, we setup a Twitter account to make it even easier for you to find out when new black friday ads are posted. You can follow us at:
Also, just like last year, we have enabled the ability to anonymously submit any rumors that you have heard regarding potential black friday deals. To submit any tips, just go to the store's black friday page and select the Edit button to enter any rumors that you might have heard.
We hope you enjoy the site this year and please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions on new features that you would like to see.
As a follow-up to yesterday's email, we've received confirmation from a few anonymous sources that the OfficeMax Black Friday ad is indeed real. The ad scan we were given was an early pre-release which was included as part of recent PowerPoint presentation that was given to various people. The final version of the ad might differ slightly from the version we received, but most of the items listed should still be on sale. To further confirm that this is real, we've heard that local OfficeMax stores have been stocking up on some of the items mentioned in the ad. Also, this year OfficeMax will be launching an "As Seen On TV" end cap, which would explain the unusual inclusion of the Snuggie and Slap Chop food processor.
Some of the better deals in the OfficeMax ad include an Acer Aspire One Netbook w/1GB memory, 160GB hard drive, and Windows XP for $149.99 and a Magellan RoadMate 1440 4.3-Inch Portable GPS for just $69.99. They also have a nice selection of printers, digital cameras, and digital media cards available at really good prices. Again, because this is a sample version of the ad, some items and prices might change in the final version. However, we expect the majority of these products to stay at their current price point and availability.
Now that November is finally here, some retailers have already started their pre-Black Friday sales. One of those retailers is Sears, who over the next few weeks will be offering some of their doorbusters online at the black friday sale price. The Sears early doorbuster sales will begin on Friday evenings and last until late Saturday morning. Other retailers such as Dell, Amazon.com, and MacMall will also be offering some really great deals this month that will be just as good as their Black Friday sales.
To help make it easier for you to see all of these deals in one place, we have revamped our online page. Not only will we show you all of the early black friday sale information, but we'll show you sales that are even better than the deals you will find on Black Friday. One of those "better than black friday" deals that is available right now is the Nintendo Wii for just $179.99 at Dell. Our online page will be updated with even more sale information and "better than black friday" product deals throughout the entire month of November. To see which early black friday deals are available online now, just visit:
For all of the Facebook users out there, we now have a fan page for BlackFriday.info. This Facebook page will allow you to easily keep up to date on the latest black friday news and even share your stories and tips for black friday with other fans. We look at this as another way to interact with our users and we're hoping to build a strong community with you there. To join, just visit:
On our Facebook page, we will be running some unique contests with prizes that you will actually want to own. We also plan to "leak" details of a couple of new things that we're working on. Want more details? Just visit our fan page on Facebook.
Finally, we have just confirmed that the 2-page Harbor Freight Black Friday ad that we posted last week was the complete ad. Typically Harbor Freight's ad has many more products, but it looks like they are scaling back this year. Also, on Sunday we posted the Gander Mountain Black Friday ad and on Tuesday November 3rd we will have a sneak peak of the Lowe's Black Friday ad.
To view the Gander Mountain Black Friday ad, go to:
November is going to be an exciting month and we can't wait to show you what we've got lined up. Thanks for subscribing and be sure to forward this to any family or friends to let them in on the excitement around Black Friday.
We just received a copy of the Kmart Black Friday ad. This year they are calling their Black Friday sale "Blue Friday", with stores opening at 6:00am. Some of the doorbusters that they will be having include a Magellan Roadmate 1220 GPS System for $84.99 and a Craftsman C3 Drill w/1-hour Charger for $39.99. They also have a bunch of other deals on clothing, holiday items, and toys.
Our Facebook fan page has really taken off, with over 20,000 new people joining in less than a day! To celebrate the 10,000 and 20,000 fan mark, we already gave away $50 Amazon.com gift certificates to two fans on Facebook. Throughout the month of November leading right up to Black Friday, we will continue to post at least one new contest every day with over $5,000 in prizes to be given away. Each contest will begin at a random time during the day and could last anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours. The contest prize will be posted for a couple of hours on blackfriday.info before we put it live on Facebook, so it's definitely worth keeping an eye on the site to find out when the day's contest will begin.
Since these contests are going to be run through Facebook, you will need to be a Facebook fan to enter. To join our fan page on Facebook, just visit:
We expect to have a couple more Black Friday ads this week with some major ads showing up early next week. Thank you for subscribing and be sure to forward this to any family or friends to let them in on the excitement around Black Friday.
This Saturday November 7th at 8:00am, Walmart will be having a pre-Black Friday sale. The main items in this sale include a Panasonic 46" Plasma HDTV (Model # TC-P46U1) for $788, a HP 15.6" Display, 250GB HD Laptop (Model # HPG60-519WM) for $298, and a XBox 360 Arcade Console + a $100 Walmart Gift Card for $199. There will be a minimum of 10 per store with a limit of 1 per customer. Again, this is only good at 8:00am on November 7th at Wal-Mart (in-store only).
If you can't make it to the store on Saturday, don't worry. Walmart brought back their "Amazing Online Specials" again for the 2009 season. While their Black Friday sale will be better, there are some pretty good deals here.

Earlier today, we received a letter from Gander Mountain claiming that posting their Black Friday advertisement is a violation of copyright law. While we disagree with their claim, we have been forced to remove their ad. In case you were wondering, the last company to contact us and claim copyright over sale prices was KB Toys in 2008. A little over a month after forcing us to remove their ad, KB Toys announced they were going out of business.
To view the Gander Mountain cease & desist, go to:
In other news, we just received a copy of the Old Navy Black Friday ad. This year Old Navy is opening their doors on Black Friday at 3:00am and giving away copies of the Lego Rock Band video game with every $20 purchase (while supplies last). Also, the full Lowe's Black Friday ad, featuring deals on tools and seasonal items, is now available on the site.
It's been a busy morning! We just received a copy of the Staples Black Friday ad. As we mentioned earlier today, the main deals in this ad include an eMachines 21.5-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor for $89.98 and a HP 15.6-inch Laptop w/Intel Celeron Processor 900, 3GB RAM, and a 160GB hard drive for $299.98. The ad is also filled with other deals on laptops, printers, monitors, office supplies, and other computer accessories.
Also, this morning we posted copies of the Ace Hardware and Tommy Hilfiger Black Friday ads. The Ace Hardware advertisement features deals on tools, automotive products, and seasonal items while the Tommy Hilfiger ad is basically just two coupons for 40% off any purchase and an additional 25% off any purchase over $200.
We just received details on four products that Staples will be offering this Black Friday. The products include a Garmin Nuvi 255W Portable GPS for $119.99, an eMachines 21.5" Widescreen LCD Monitor for $89.98, a HP 8GB Portable Flash Drive for $12.99, and a HP Laptop w/Windows 7 (unknown specs) for $299.98. We are hoping to have the full Staples Black Friday ad within the next week or so.

Also, today Best Buy announced that on Wednesday November 11th they will be offering an Acer laptop w/Intel Celeron 900 processor, 2GB memory and a 160GB hard drive for $249.99. This is their lowest-advertised-price laptop ever and the deal will be available both in-store and online. Unfortunately, Best Buy has not released the exact model number of the laptop, but we believe it might be the one linked below.

Also, we received a copy of the Walmart Black Friday ad earlier in the week. While we can not post this ad quite yet, we can tell you that the deals are excellent and it's definitely one of the best Black Friday advertisements that we've seen this year. We hope to be able to post the full advertisement later this week.
Finally, we have received copies of the Modell's, Bass Pro Shops, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michaels, Burlington Coat Factory, and A.J. Wright Black Friday ads. Most of these advertisements are smaller in size and they feature some pretty good deals that are worth checking out.
